Yogimamas offer London based antenatal classes, online courses and a private forum for mothers around the world, to connect with and support each other.

Founded by Joanna Parkin, who after the birth of her daughter Suri was surprised to discover a wealth of science in child development that was at odds with many of our current mainstream parenting practices that separated infants and young children from their primary caregivers. Joanna developed a keen interest in child development science, which shows us how important parental bonds are to children, particularly the under-threes, who rely upon such powerful bonds to support their optimum neurological development and lay the foundations of a lifelong healthy mindset. After all, humans are social animals and thrive through close human connection during our early years as our brains are developing so rapidly.

Since yogic philosophy is also focused on the union that we have with our self and others, as well as the health of the mind -  and having been passionately practicing and studying yoga for many years - Joanna found that the principles of yogic science complemented the child development practices that best support maternal and child wellbeing. She set about creating courses based on this fusion of Eastern philosophy and Western science that are aimed to help parents and carers to create the most powerful bonds with their children. The stronger the bond between parent and child, the more likely the child is to cooperate with the parent, resulting in a happy and harmonious home life for everyone.

Central also to a life where we're able to thrive and fulfil our human potential, is our health. And as if cancer statistics weren't already bad enough, the American Cancer Society suggests that new cancer diagnoses will grow by up to 50 percent by the year 2030. It's time that we took our family's health into our own hands and set about ways to drastically reduce our chances of being part of such saddening statistics. One way we can do this, is through clean, natural living and reducing our exposure to harmful chemicals through the air we breathe, the food and drink we consume and what we absorb through our skin. Another concerning statistic is that approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year, with 1 in 6 people reporting experiencing a mental health problem in any given week.  We believe that through awareness of child development neuroscience, we can go a long way to ensure that our children develop the neural pathways that protect them from such problems and protect their mental health not only now, whilst they're children, but as adults also.

Through healthy living and awareness of what our children really need to thrive with radiant health and happiness, we are supporting our children with the best possible start in life.

There is no single effort more radical in its potential for saving the world, than a transformation of the way we raise our children.

What children need most are parents that fully understand child development and are willing to accommodate their myriad of needs, including the need to be totally dependent upon their primary caregiver for as long as they need to be.
